The Respect in Action programme offers support to enjoy a safe place to work free from bullying and harassment through trained members of staff. The programme aims to prevent bullying and harassment and provide clear pathways to manage any concerns that arise.​ Safety is of paramount importance: safety to enjoy a supportive workplace and safety to come forward with any concerns without fear of recrimination or negative consequences.

I have sixteen  years’ experience in supporting people who experience disability to move into training and employment and I have over eight years’ experience as a healthcare Recruitment Consultant within an agency and in public health. I have lived experience of disability and I have a Diploma in Teaching People with Disabilities.

Prior to that, I worked in various industries such as recruitment, insurance, and manufacturing, in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

I also trained and served for 4 years in the Royal New Zealand Naval Reserves in Dunedin, as a Naval Control of Shipping on HMNZS Moa.

While working full-time at AUT, I completed a Bachelor of Business in Human Resources, Management and Employment Relations, which ignited my passion for social justice. 


I too have experienced bullying and harassment within the workplace and wanted to use my own experience to support others. 

I’m also an executive branch member of TIASA and felt that Respect in Action would complement my skills further.

I am the Built Asset Manager within the Estates Group, primarily based at City Campus. Originally from Canada, I have been living and working in New Zealand for the past 20 years. In addition to my role at AUT, I am currently completing my law degree, which has deepened my passion for fairness and justice.


Throughout my career, I have experienced firsthand the impact of bullying and harassment, and I feel strongly about promoting respect and fairness in all aspects of life, especially in the workplace. I am committed to supporting AUT in building a healthy, discrimination-free culture where all staff feel safe, valued, and appropriately supported.


Outside of work I enjoy reading, going to the gym, and spending time connecting with friends. I am also a proud cat mum to my 15-year-old fur child, Phoenix.
